I am active duty military stationed in the great state of New Jersey. Being that this is New Jersey, the state with some, if not thee most ridiculous gun laws, I haven’t even bothered to purchase my firearms here. As I am from NH and still hold my NH state drivers license, I buy my firearms there, as it is one of the easiest states to purchase firearms. My question is though, what do I have to do to legally bring my weapons to NJ? Do I still have to get NJ permits and licenses? I know I have to get a firearms ID just to purchase ammo here in NJ. I mean, my weapons are registered with the FBI, it is not like they are illegal, but I do know NJ has ridiculous laws here and would prefer to not get in trouble for having ‘illegal’ (for NJ) weapons…

As a military historian I feel the need to address an argument between two of my friends. They are disagreeing on the quality of weapons issued to common troops in feudal armies (namely swords). I know that they had to be substandard to the Daimyo and Samurai but to what extent?

Source: News. What is happening? The rag tag insurgents in Iraq are hurting the all powerful USA military. We ( USA Military ) are so powerful but can’t put a little dent into the everyday rag tag insurgents who wear blue jeans and tennis shoes and use basic weapons. The USA will once again walk in shame like the Vietnam Veterans.

My grandfather, as it was told to me, came home from the war with a Springfield military-issue rifle, and its serial numbers seemed to match up to a military-issue firearm. Could he have bought it after the war, or were the policies about keeping weapons different back then?
Thanks.

I was thinking maye you would help me choose a job. I want a job with alot of excitement, shooting weapons, and field training. That is pretty much both of the jobs. I would like to be a police officer, but I hear police stations don’t like to hire former MPs because civilian and military law are completely different.

Whenever someone proposes closing an obsolete military base or weapons program, conservatives says that it can’t be done because theses programs generate jobs locally. How do taxpayers who do not work near an obsolete base or weapons program benefit from these program they are paying for?

I mean look at what happened in Vietnam? Is our strength really because we have the bravest and most intelligent men serving for us, as the military propoganda machine would have us believe, or is it because the machinery and weapons that our military relies on is the best in the world? I know that this is going to offend some people but I would like an honest answer and not a PATRIOTIC delusional answer. Thanks, in advanced.

Like some other countries..
I noticed that the countries that do have military parades are commy nations, could that anything to do with it?
Also isnt a military parade the perfect oppurtunity to destroy N.Korea’s weapons because they have alot of weapons all in one place in the open??

I’m an Italian student, and I’m studying English in US. I’m here with a F1 visa (is for student) and I’m 20 years old.
I would know if I can study (undergraduate) in a military academy in USA.
I really like science (especially inorganic chemistry), and I can spend hours to watch weapons.
So I thought I can study for projecting new military stuff.
Happy holidays

Despite the enduring and very close diplomatic and military relationship between the United States and Israel, and all the indirect aid (funds, supplies, weapons etc.) the United States has given to Israel, it has occurred to me that I do not know of a single instance in which the United States actually lent troops or direct military action to an Israeli military operation or visa versa. Is it true that such has never happened?

Was just looking at some figures and it seems the South is spending 5 times more on it’s military than the North (.5 billion compared to billion). Yet the North has nearly double the amount of soldiers, more tanks, a hell of a lot more submarines and double the amount of airforce personnel. I’d just like some examples of the weapons and equipment the South are using compared to what the North are using.

News item today–Democrats int he Senate found out from an AP news investigation that BushCo is selling military hardware to IRAN–and have introduced a bill to stop this particular piece of insanity.
So what this boils down to is Bush is helping our enemies get the weapons they need to kill our troops.
Okay, neocons, let’s you spin this one!

A U.S. helicopter was shot down and crashed north of Baghdad on Wednesday, the military said after initially stating that the chopper made a "hard landing." All aboard were safely evacuated by a second helicopter and all had brown stains on the rear of their uniforms.
At least seven U.S. helicopters have crashed or been forced down under hostile fire since Jan. 20. Military officials have said that militants are increasingly targeting helicopters amid the buildup of U.S. troops in Baghdad, firing simultaneously with an assortment of weapons from different directions. The Army and Marines admit the insurgents are amazing. They ( Insurgents) never give up. The Iraq war may end up like another Vietnam.

more military colleges
more trained military officers
manufacturing that produced over 90 percent of the nation’s shoes, cloth, and firearms
cotton to trade for goods and weapons
If you know the answer, please tell me.
Much obliged.

I read a lot of history, I play war videogames, and I like watching cool military gadgets and uniforms. I have knowledge on weapons and a bunch of army stuff… It’s not that I’m a warfreak, but all that stuff is cool. I’m 19 and I have no plans on joining the army yet. What can i do to show more love to my obssession?
Yeah I read not only WWII but the Civil War, Charlemagne, the Crusades…etc

Okay so I am thinking about joining the Military. Preferably the Air Force or Navy.
Can someone tell me the best position for someone who wants a lot of action, and wants to handle weapons most of the time.
I know there are different jobs in the Navy or Air Force, but what is the best for me?
Basically what i look for.
-A lot of action
-Handling firearms most of the time
-Flying in helicopters/jumping out of planes doing rescue operations.
Things like that, what advice can you give me? thanks!
