good idea. and the first time a burglar breaks into your house or we get attacked like we did on december 7, 1941 i expect you to stand there and throw flowers at them. if you are walking down the street some night and a mugger points a gun at you or puts a knife to your throat all you have to do is give him a flower or offer him a cup of tea.

Did you ever notice, the gun control advocates NEVER talk about taking away the GOVERNMENT’S guns?
Even though the governments of the world have killed far more people with their guns than civilian citizens ever have.
People who oppose war are the main cause of war.
People who start wars just love people who won’t fight back.

That’s a paradox.
The only way to "abolish" them would be through force – i.e. using guns and military..
Which rather defeats the purpose.
The only solution is to have people voluntarily stop manufacturing of weapons.
Such a situation is a long ways off still – but we as a species appear to be on the right track.

I’d disagree with your assessment of military and guns as the root of all evil. Though I’m an agnostic, I’d agree with the Bible and say that love of money, or greed, is the root of all evil.
As long as we live in a world where greed rules I wouldn’t advocate a complete ban on guns or the military. But, we could cut the U.S. defense budget by 90% or so and still have the largest military in the world.

They are not evil, if we abolish them we set ourselves up for attack by crazy foreign nations. In fact, North Korea would love to see such an opening to bring down the U.S.
In an ideal world, we would abolish these things without any problems, but in reality abolishing our military and our guns would only be like inviting enemies to take us down.
The military needs to cut down some spending and place that money in better things like, education.

They have this huge fear that Obama will be searching everyone’s house and confiscatingng their guns.
He hasn’t said anything about gun control that I know of.
Maybe keeping automatic rifles out of convicts hands or something but I guess they wouldn’t even agree to that.
It so funny, they are all wiping out the store shelves for guns & ammo. What a great time to be in the gun business ehh?
