U.S. Military Weapons Inscribed With Secret ‘Jesus’ Bible Codes!?

January 21st, 2010 by eranio

Is this for real? or is it some random joke?

To quote from the article

"Coded references to New Testament Bible passages about Jesus Christ are inscribed on high-powered rifle sights provided to the United States military by a Michigan company, an ABC News investigation has found"

I’m Christian. I think it’s kind of insipid, but it doesn’t hurt anybody, so why would I care?

The only thing about it that bothers me is the rank double standard; I hate to imagine what kind of stink my evangelical brothers and sisters in Christ would raise if a manufacturer inscribed references from the Koran or from Origin of Species.

It doesn’t really surprise me. There are a huge number of Christians who think of the Iraq War as some kind of holy crusade, and it’s not at all surprising that some of them manufacture accessories for firearms.

The fact that this sort of thing is wildly illegal doesn’t seem to faze them. There has always been a certain subset of the Christian population who have no qualms whatsoever about violating the law if it interferes with their efforts to enforce their religious beliefs on others.

And this surprises you? Don’t forget that the soldiers of the Third Reich marched with "Gott mit uns" on their belt buckles.

The Holy spirit is either in a mans heart or not, the actual written word are to only pass the message
