		<description>Almost any high power hunting rifle can be utilized by a sure enough documented military / government sniper. Do they have a preference..of course they do. Am I presumptuous enough to list what they like..nope. But the following have been used before.
Springfield 1903 in 30 06
Winchester Mdl 70 in 30-06
M1 Garand in 30-06
Remington M40 in .308
Springfield M21 &amp; M25 (M14 super match grade) in .308
Barrett Light 50 in 50 cal.

There are a plethora of them..these were just a few well known ones.</description>

		<description>REMINGTON 700!!!!! the action used by the army in the m24 and the marines m40a_. most common caliper .308 but also include .300 win mag and the .338 lapua which is a beast. the barrett is a ba gun but weights over 30lbs. also look in to the cheytac intervention .408 pretty cool stuff there. however the remmy 700 action is the most popular and universally used sniper platform there in imho</description>
