Yeah, yeah, I sound like a know-nothing 12-year-old and any rifle is a sniper rifle in the hands of a sniper blah blah, just answer please.
Mountain Man, are you drunk?

a "sniper" rifle doesn’t have a set definition.
most hunting rifles are bolt action, because semi-automatic rifles are illegal to hunt with.
If you want a semi-auto sniper rifle, you’d be best off to buy a semi-automatic rifle and attach a scope to it.
I kinda wanna know why you want a semi-auto sniper rifle, those can’t be used for hunting or home defense…

The M21, based on the M14, is said to be pretty good even though it’s an older design. You could probably come close to getting one of these with a properly equipped M1A from Springfield Armory.
The H&K PSG-1 is supposed to be a hot number, but try to find one. Ditto the Walther WA-3000.
The SVD Dragunov has a mixed reputation for accuracy, but they’re reliable enough.
I believe the US has adopted one now called the M110, based on the AR-10 rifle. I haven’t heard much about its performance yet.

The FN AR 308 comes in both standard (fluted) and heavy barrel configurations and has either a 10 or 20 round magazine. It is based on a Browning BAR receiver. There are few semi-auto designs that will hold a high accuracy standard but these do.

ZSE – bla bla bla.
How many times are going to ask this question this month?
Go buy a copy of the ‘Shooter’s Bible’ or order one from Amazon.com it has all the info for most all your most recent questions.
If you cannot afford your own copy – you can find last years copy for half price on ebay or your local library should have them going back 20+ years. You can learn allot about guns if you start with a 1970 or so Shooters bible at the library and then work you way up to 2009.
Hope this helps
