What are some techniques the U.S Military teaches soldiers when in combat gun-to-gun fighting?

Like, I was watching Fox’s America’s Most Wanted, and unfortunately there was a Marine that was a gang-member and he robbed a bank or something, then they we’re talking about knowing that he was a marine because only in the marines they teach soldiers how to fire and use a slicing technique or something. So this made me curious, what are some of the techniques thought by the U.S military when ur in combat? Like what’s slicing? Does it make it hard for the enemy to shoot you or something? Thx :D

I reckon this link is the "slicing" you heard. No use explaining it, the link says it all.

well, believe it or not, USMC marines are the most trained military force in the world. so they are trained for almost any situation. im not sure what slicing is so i cnt answer your question, but im guessing since iv never heard of it that they had a typo or u heard it rong

I believe what you’re referring to is a bayonet technique called slashing. It doesn’t directly tie into shooting at all, other than in the situation you mentioned he may have fired and then slashed. The slash is used to kill an opponent or create an opening in his defenses. Basically, imagine taking a bayonet and drawing it diagonally across your opponents body.

Or, maybe that isn’t what you meant…
