What are the counters to a torpedo shot on a military ship?

Many counters exist for missiles(lasers, goaltender machine gun, …) but can a state of the art destroyer of carrier do anything against a torpedo after it is launched?

Put depth charges under the ship to make it literally jump up out of the water when the torpedo gets near.

Maneuver out of the path of the torpedo if possible. Of course, some torpedoes can home in on the sound of a ship’s propellers.
