The military don’t have research labs for weapons. They rely on commercial companies for that, usually issuing r&d contracts for specific needs, but often just evaluating items proposed by industry on their own.
So, your question is what degrees are most used by industry that includes weapons design as part of their objectives. That would primarily be mechanical engineering, control theory (which would mainly be electrical engineering and ME), and nautical and/or aeronautical engineering for larger weapons systems. You probably should join ROTC in college as well, and the NRA, and work to preserve our 2nd Amendment.
