Assault rifles are not semi-auto……
Take a look….
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_rifle
Here is an assault rifle…..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M16_rifle
and …..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M4_carbine
Now here is a semi-automatic AR15 sporting rifle…. Notice how they look the same as the above assault rifles?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AR-15
Thats because they are semi-auto…..

I am only telling you this to educate you… Not be a jerk….. But if you walk into a gun shop or to the rifle range and use the words "assault rifle" you will immediately convey that your an idiot…. Look smart and take assault rifle out of your vocabulary…..
This is what you want…..

Assault rifle? Get the original… the STG44. seriously though, I doubt you have the proper permit to own an "assault rifle" because it would be select fire. You mean a semi auto rifle chambered in .223 like an AR15.

1 assault rifle and semi-auto rifle are 2 different things
2 dpms make quality ar15 for a good price, check out bushmaster and see if they have something you would rather have.

Look into the Remington R-15. It is quickly becoming popular among predator hunters, and even deer hunters in some places where allowed. It is a nice rifle available in .223 Rem, .204 Ruger, and the newer .30 Remington AR. The proffesional predator hunters seem to like it, so it should suit you well.

Depends on range…
I would look at military issue Assualt rifles such as a G36C (E,D,etc.) M4 which is basically your AR-15 or an AK-47.
A G36C has a smaller caliber but has great accuracy.
AR-15 might have a tendency to jam with a higher RPM and lower temperatures.
AK-47 would have the biggest punch but ammunition is hard to come by and extremely expensive so make sure you hit.
AK’s RULE

Get a remington r 15. They have free floated bull barrels which greatly increase accuracy especially with sustained fire. It has a beautiful camo job and has a picatinny rail for mounting scopes. It is available with a fixed or telescoping stock. They are available in barrel lengths from 18-24 inches. It has a nice crisp single stage trigger. The gun is also very light, weighing from 6-8 pounds depending on the model. If I were you, I would get the 18 inch barrel simply because of its mobility and because the r15 with the 18 inch barrel only weighs 6 3/4 pounds. It would also make the gun more handy in a defensive situation. I attached a link to Remington’s website, impact guns where the gun is being sold, and a link to a review of the firearm. I apologize if the link to the review offends you if you are not a Christian. I attached it because it was the best review I could find.

The Bushmaster Predator was designed especially for coyote hunters. It is the basic AR 15 with a heavy barrel and match barrel/chamber. It is flat topped with picatinny rail for convenient scope mounting. Bushmaster and Remington are now under the same ownership and the Remington version of this rifle seems identical or nearly so.

Ass. rifle for coyotes? What are they doing—organizing a bayonet charge at you?

AR-15 would be good,it is kind of expensive and designed for law inforcement/military.A hunting rifle would be cheaper and easier to get.
