Does the US military use less than lethal weapons?

i know military police might, but aside from them, does our military use any less than lethal weapons?
I know in combat, where you need to destroy the enemy , you wouldn’t need LTL weapons.

but i am saying, like maybe a UAV or something spotted some high value targets that we could use to better our selves in war, but they are heavily armed, but we do not want to kill them,

sounds weird , but what if there was a situation like that.

wraeth gave you the best answer so far. There are a wide variety of less lethal rounds for shot guns… rubber pellets, slugs, and bean bags, for example. The FN303 launches little plastic pellets that can be packed with CS gas, paint, etc… it fires off of a compressed air tank. I think someone already mentioned the Stinger grenades with rubber pellets. My personal favorite is the LL Claymore. I’m not making this up. It’s a claymore with rubber balls in it. Much of this stuff is used for riot control in detainee operations.

The .223 bullet used in the M16. It is not even recommended for deer hunting.

The Marines are developing a less than lethal weapon called the Active Denial System where it burns you for a short period and stuns you and also some less than lethal shotguns i’ve heard of

In combat, using a less than lethal weapon could mean the death of a US soldier.

we have flash bangs, rubber slugs for shot guns, rubber "hornets nest" rounds for our 203 Grenade launchers. some guys are issued batons, and someplaces you will have a tazer.
