What would be a good first AEG assault rifle?

February 20th, 2010 by eranio

I have been playing airsoft with my friends, and have been getting tired of borrowing and looking to buy my first AEG. I am debating over the G36c, G36k, and G3 types. We usually play in a small field of 200 feet length or an area with bushes the size of one city block. I am usually a quick runner in games but I do not have the best aim. Any suggestions?

An advantage of the G36C over the G36K is that you are stuck with the scope internally built in on the G36K. I had a G36C with a red dot scope on top and it was a phenomenal CQC AEG.

    1. If you want a great G36C the best one made is by KWA. This rifle shoots 380 fps and can out range many of the larger rifles. It has a fast rate of fire, it’s internals are very good too. It is $265.00, but remember it is the best G36C for outdoor skirmishes out on the market.

Here is a review on it:

And here is a great place to buy it, I have done business with AONW many times and can vouch for them.

    2. If that is out of your price range another good choice is by JG, only $119.95.

yeah, same here man, im SERIOUSLY stuck between the G36 and MP5 full metal guns.

Apparently the mp5 is THE BEST gun that you can buy and not go wrong with and easy to work on….depending on which company makes them.

The G36 looks awesome, lightweight and is solid, and you can get the Twin Drum magazines for them…..but apparently they are a PAIN in the ass to dissasemble and work on.

I’ve recently been looking at the MP40, it’s got good RPM, decent range, and EASY to work on, if needed.

If you are going for the "pray n spray" strategy, i would stay with the MP5 series, G36 series with the SHORTER barrel, or get the MP40.
The MP40 is probably the BEST short range/firepower weapon IF you plan to be a "run n gun" type person……but im not sure if you can get the Twin Drum Mags with them, but i believe the Regular Magazines that come with the gun already hold 300bb’s anyways.

But if you want a portable firepower for running, i’d seriously look at the MP40, it’s got extremely quick draw-times and is very short yet has good range FPS too…..good close quarters weapon

If you think you may need alittle more distance, but wanna have good portability then go with MP5 or G36
