What would Private military contractors do with an assault rifle ban?

November 15th, 2009 by eranio

Since they are classified as civilians, if there is another assault rifle ban how will they be able to get their weapons? will they have to use handguns and hunting rifles or what?

Government contractors are often exempt from these types of regulations. It is the same reason why they are able to use NFA weapons (fully automatic) now when they are otherwise highly restricted to the public. As it stands now, no civilian can legally own a machine gun that was made and registered after 19 May 1986 due to the National Firearms Act. However, companies like Blackwater and KBR can purchase and manufacture brand new weapons for use due to their licensing.

The only ones that will suffer from an assault rifle ban are you, me, and about 300 million other Americans.

It would effect them at all.

The assault weapons ban, banned semi auto assault weapons.

But only new semi auto assault weapons.

It didn’t ban full auto weapons at all.

Anyone with a class lll federal weapons permit, could still buy and import automatic weapons.

They are exempt, and given appropriate licensing to conduct their business.

They could buy some legal fully automatic weapons to take their place. That is if they are not exempt.

Read the law, assault rifle bans only apply to the average citizen, there are exemptions for law enforcement, military, including those under contract with them, even for those in the entertainment industry!!!
