In terms of a service rifle, the M-16a4, and M-4 are brand new.

When they are developed. The US military has access to over a 1,000 different firearms, they don’t need new assault rifles.

There are several projects going on now for a replacement assault weapon; but so far none of them have completed testing and endurance trials successfully.

I’m sure there developing new ones . I would like to see a new one it will most likely be a modified version of the current m 16 and the goverment probably wont tell anyone about it untill the can produce its all about having a bigger gun than the enemy .
