Where can I get quality but affordable guns?

July 25th, 2010 by eranio

I was in the military and just got out, I would want something similar to my government issued M4. I believe that would be an AR15, I would also be interested in an AK47. Is there a certain manufacter, store, or website to check out? Is there one to avoid? Thanks

Find your local gun shop(s). Get to know your local dealer(s). The gun shop of today is like the barber shop of yester-year; people gather there, they hang out, tell stories, swap opinions, etc. His prices will be comparable with others but you get much better customer service. The other patrons will be a wealth of knowledge as well as you will be having just gotten out of the military (Thank You, BTW).

I would say get a lower receiver and build your own.

It’s not hard, and you already know most of what to do.

    Impact Guns and Atlantic Firearms
also check Century Arms International- they’re the importer of that type of guns into this nation.

AK47 type rifles many people say WASR type is of low quality. Generally a good AK should cost around $500-$600.

AR15 type rifles there are a few good brands that many people like. Such as DMPS Panther, Rock River Arms, Bushmaster, Stag Arms.

If you’re in California the only AKs you may buy is either a $1000+ model from an off list company or a WASR-10. The AR-15 is limited, Stag, Bushmaster, Panther arms are the few choices.

LOL there are no AR-15s that are in expensive try $900.00 to a sh*ton. AK’s are cheaper but they are known for only being able to hit the broadside of the barn while standing in the barn. You might consider buying an SKS and mounting some sort of tactical site. That will be semi auto and give you performance similar to your M4 for about $500 max.

P.S. Thank you for your service and glad to have you back

Right now, affordable and AR15 are hard to put in the same sentence.

The cheapest way is to buy from a manufacturer, but be prepared to wait a long time (at least several months).

Bushmaster, DPS, Rock River Arms, Olympic Arms, are all good brands.

Try academy. Some gun shows have some good deals, but not so much recently. The demand for guns is sky high right now, thanks to the election.

You might try and look for a website where people post adds for guns. Depending on the private transfer laws of your state, this is perfectly legal and usually cheaper.

Your local dealer can order one of these…. Many manufacturers have these on back order so dont hesitate to buy one now….. There is a concern Obama might try to implement an assault weapons ban like Clinton did — Thats why they are in short supply…..
