I would suggest you look into self defense courses. There are many offered at all levels from martial arts up to and including military style training. It all depends on your area, your desires, and how much you are willing to pay.

Check in your yellow pages or do a search online to find what you need.

    Hope this helps.

What other reason would you have for learning how to fight and shoot guns without joining the military?

You sound warped, seek help. You can go to a gun range if you want to shoot that badly.

    Check with your local gang.

Seriously, you can take classes in guns and gun safety — look online.

Local shooting ranges have NRA qualified instructors to train you in basic firearms techniques. Whether they can teach you advance stuff the room clearing and firearm retention depends on that instructor and the facility they operate in.

Paintball clubs are an adequate source for the basics of small unit maneuvers, and the sting of those paint-balls will teach you to look for cover. Rod & Gun clubs can teach firearms safety ( you’ll need to practice maintenance & operational safety weekly as you’re on your own) Finally, most states have Militias, find one with a philosophical opinion with which You are comfortable and join it. Some of the reputable Militias are on the web.

Check Gunsite. There are civilian schools that train you to shoot, move and communicate. Yahoo search them, and see what you find. There are usually requirements such as gun, holster, ammo, clothing, age. Which you’ll need to arrange before attending a class. Good Luck

FINALLYYYYYY….I woman that I could learn to fall in love with. You’re everything I’ve prayed for. Are you single??? he he he

Seriously…..check the Yellow Pages. Martial Arts training is easy to find in larger cities. I can personally suggest Shotokan karate, Tae Kwon Do, Judo or Aikido. Don’t bother to buy the books or video tapes….just go to the dojo or dojang (training center) and speak directly to the instructors (sensei). Some college universities offer FREE classes to students and Non-students also.

As for firearms training…there MAY be a firing range in your city or town. I usually suggest that most women start out slowly with handgun training. Buy a nice .22 cal handgun to learn good marksmanship, breath control and safety practices. After you perfect your accuracy feel free to step up to a larger caliber of your choice. I find that a .38 auto is perfect for most women. I suggest you stay away from larger caliber firearms such as .357 magnum, 44 magum and the like. The recoil of these firearms sometimes causes problems.
If you enjoy this type of training you may also enjoy the Military Police in the Army or Air Force. You’de get professional hands on training in all of these aspects of your life. Good Luck
