Which branch of the military do you think is better and why?

March 4th, 2010 by eranio

I’m contemplating going into the military after highschool, yet i cant choose which branch i want to go into. I would really like to work with either guns or be a pilot. I’m not sure yet though. I’m even contemplating going to one of the Academies, but im still not sure. What do you think would be best? Which branch do you like best, and explain please.Thanks.
If I could, i would be an infantryman, but im a woman, so thats not really going to work. Thats my dream job though. Any job close to that?

Marines still have some pride and they have an airwing.

I think the best is the Army National Guard. Now see my dad has worked for it all his life and i’ve been raised around it. But you get 100% college paid tution. and get to pick which catergory of job you would like to work at. Once joined. The pay is really good.

US. ARMY or Airforce. The Army has a few brains left and the Airforce has great food! Go Stormin" Norman!

MARINES!! We just had our Marine Birthday Ball and had people from all branches and they all said that their branch of the military is good but there just something about Marines. It’s like every Marine has this ora and just stick out in every situation. It’s the best.

Don’t let people try to sway you because they have great fuckin food or better schools. Every school that my senior guy that I work for now went to that wasn’t a Marine school, he was put in charge. He went to Army Ranger school with like 75 other Army guys and was the only Marine. Guess who was put in charge. We get the job done.

I’v been in the US Navy for a year now its cool but if you want a specif job dont join the Navy, youll do every job except the one you were trained for. unless you go in as a officer/pilot .
Other than that, its hard to say witch is "best" but I love being in the Navy and couldent advertise any other branch of service.

Better is all in what you want.

There are many special opps units in all.

However As far as a branch that stands out above the rest. There is only one.

There is only one branch that will acknowledge each other regardless of age or how many years they are out.

Only one branch that calls them selves former rather than X. because once you belong , you belong forever.

Some called them leather necks, the Germans called them devil dogs.

    We are the Marines.

    Former Marine 1963 to 1967

Air Force, for obvious reasons, they don’t often have to go into hand to hand combat, they are in comfortable quarters and ground crew personnel are not usually near the front lines

They are all good and each serves a purpose…. Join the branch that appeals to you the most and that you think that you can contribute the most to.

Go Marines if you want to defend this great country, Army if you don’t want life quite so tough,
Air Force if you want to do PT in the gym when it rains, have a nice room, and the best food,
Navy if you like to be surrounded by the ocean and really see the world.

I go to one of the service academies. Only go to an Academy if you’re 200% sure you want to be an officer in that branch of service. Do your research, talk to people within each branch, see what life is like on a daily basis, in war, and in peacetime deployments. Best wishes.

well if its guns you want to work with you can work with all the guns you want to in the marine corps. and the marines do it all land ,sea and air so you can be a pilot in the marine corps and if i were you i wouldn’t believe this crap about choose us because well give you better schooling or more money for college I’m pretty sure that all the branches are covered by the Montgomery g.i. bill which gives you money for college

As a former Marine myself of course I am going to say the Marines are best! oohh Rah. However all branches are important and the best in what they do. I was proud to serve as a Marine and have friends in all the branches . We are all on family.

my husband is in the army but he is always talking about how much he wishes he would of joined the airforce… he says they have better jobs and pay alot more and their deployment arent as long

My husband is in the Air force and it seems to me to be the best branch to get the education in other than just your career and it’s been said to be the most woman friendly. We have friends in the Marines, Army and Navy. My Aunt was a Marine and she said it was tough for a woman to be taken seriously. It may be different now. I do know that with the Marines or Army you are more likely to be in a war zone as a man but I don’t know as a woman. I hope you find what you are looking for.
