a good bolt action for the price that has good accuracy because mounting a scope on the sks is not gonna be me. I want a bolt action before i waste money on a scope mount and scope for the sks. ty

An "average" German vs. Russian comparison favour the Mauser. Its a better, mre modern design (with a modern cartridge) manufactured by a more thorough workforce. If your scoping then the post ’30 turned down bolt handle is a bonus…
Of course there are exceptions; Finnish MNs are supposedly very good, far above Russian items in accuracy, likewise Swedish 6.5mm Mausers are probably the most sought after of all standard issue bolt guns! Obviously the non-standard tuned versions of both are far removed from the normal quality; oddly the Nagant has a exceptionally good reputation in this format, being quite gun-to-gun consistent & being very (~2moa) accurate.

Well, depending on condition and which Mauser and Mosin, likely the Mauser is a better choice. I own and like my 91/30, but they are hit or miss, some are just trashed. The Mauser is more expensive though. Mosin’s are difficult to get a scope on, but there are several aftermarket kits out there.

The mauser is of much higher quality, it’s also more expensive. If you don’t have to have a surplus rifle look into a Remington 700, the line with the plastic trigger guard is cheap.

it is going to vary gun to gun, but in general you have a much better chance of getting a surplus mauser with a good barrel than a surplus mosin nagant with a good barrel

The Mauser Model K98 is the better surplus military bolt action that you can get, they might be more expensive between $300-$400. But they are more accurate, durable, and reliable than a simple Mosin Nagant.

depends on what you want it for the mauser will cost you more and is more user friendly better pick of scopes to use better selection of ammo for the mauser the mosin you have three types of scope mounts two I use one is the millitary and it is hard to mount and you only have two scopes to pick from the other is a after market one cost about 80 dollars here it hase every thing you need to mount your scope but around here where I live the mosins that you can buy are in like new condition and shoot good it you take the time to zero them
