Why are there no bolt action pellet rifles?

March 11th, 2010 by eranio

I was wondering why are there bolt action spring airsoft sniper rifles but there are no bolt action spring pellet gun rifles. I know that using a bolt on a spring rifle is pointless. But why isn’t there even a single bolt action spring pellet rifle? If only for sentimental purposes.

Lots of bolt action pellet guns. Not for charging, but for loading.

Because you can buy a bolt action pump pellet rifle for $35 at wal-mart and the way spring/piston pellet rifles operate the bolt would stop the flow of air.

I have a Benjamin and Sheridan that’s bolt action.

if there are bolt-action pellet pistols, then there should be bolt action pellet rifles. the bolt action is not the mechanism to cock or load the spring of an air gun, the bolt action feature allows you to load from the breech without a break action system. Most of this kind of pellet gun is fairly hard to find, strictly for target shooting, and generally CO2 or PCP type power.

There are bolt action pellet rifles. As for the spring piston guns… It would mess up the design.
