Why do people keep saying the military is protecting our freedom,?

March 14th, 2010 by eranio

when it is the gun owners that are protecting our rights from the government. Without the guns, we would have no rights.
The military is the government and business thugs, or strong arms. Congress never declared war.
Oh I’m sorry girls, I thought the constitution had some meaning. It was not designed to protect us from other countries, but from our government! Grow up!
Some ding bats think that todays military is the same as WWII’s. That was our last declared war!

Gee do you think you would have any rights today if not for our military this past 200 years? Get real The military of the USA is the only reason you have the right to come in this forum and rant about how scr3wed up your government might be. Go thank a Vet.

Update: Girls? Um I seem to remember my oath said something about all Enemies Foreign and Domestic. But you wouldn’t know anything about that would you.

As a retired military member, I always considered it a joint effort.

The military do what they are ordered and in no way are representative of our inept government.

Think of all the battles in the past that we have won, that was because of the military

Ok Montana Militia Boy, how can YOU protect us?

yeah i ask that same question. If we never went to Iraq/afghanistan, everything would be exactly the same here except our economy wouldn’t be a pile of shit.

well because freedom and democracy is a good progaganda
in order to persuade people to go to kill other people

    Military is not our government
    Military is our people

Your freedom tobitch is provided by the society protected by the Military. One of the biggest mistakes our forefathers made was calling it the Bill of Rights. It should have been called the Bill of Privileges. To call the military thugs, just makes me want to kick your tail up to Canada. It amazes me how we have the greatest country on the planet, and little spoiled squirts like you are allowed to share my oxygen. Take your butt to France, and see how much you miss the thugs.

I am happy that there is some opposition from Pentagon to the objectives of GWB and its cronies, that means that an unifying policy is lacking in US govt, and that means weakness…
    Thats good for us….

Well genius, without the military do you think you would have the right to own that gun? Read a history book.

Our entire country and its freedoms were borne from volunteers who stepped up to form a military force to create the country you now enjoy. Anyone sane dislikes war, but those of us who enjoy the intelligence God gave us realize that good sometimes comes from the bowels of that hell. The United States of America, and all its gifts (and foibles) is one such shining example.

Please try to separate the concept of our military (a voluntary force who protects us from all enemies, foreign and domestic, since the birth of the country) – and politicians (whose agendas and often self-serving aims diverge widely from the rest of us).

I fully support my sons and their Brothers who serve. They are absolutely necessary, and I thank God for them. Do I always agree with the ideas and motives and the wars in which they fight? No. Stop blaming our sons and daughters who serve for the mistakes of those who direct them into war, whether justified or full of it.

Try to understand the difference. The people you are insulting and judging are your peers, and are not much different from yourself. They just want to give back to the country that has given so much to them – and to you. It’s not perfect by any means, but it’s a hell of a lot better than most people ever dream of having.

The military is being exploited. We are not fighting in Iraq for our freedom, its all propaganda and our troops are needlessly paying the price.

Do you think when a war profiteer sees on the news that a Hummer with four Soldiers hit an IED that they say, man I hope nobody was hurt? Hell no they say, HELL YEAH we get to sell the tax payer another over priced hunk of garbage.

We are not fighting for freedom, we are fighting for profit.

So…how do you have the right to own a gun?

    Though so!

Ok Dale you must have never served in the Military. What were you a flower power hippie loving homosexual. If you are between the age of 18 and 29 why don’t you get the experience first hand on your question by joining the Marines. Instead of sitting behind a computer. Lazy

They keep saying that because the average IQ in America is 98…which isn’t too bad for people that plan on being Police Officers or desk clerks. Leaders aren’t born with a double digit IQ however, only followers are. Which isn’t a bad thing, it just means that when our government sends our military to foreign countries to "protect" US, the herds of individuals living on these states believe it. Come on guys, when our military is sent thousands of miles away, they are by no means protecting OUR freedom (in this case at least). No one is tramping on our soil or invading our country threatening to take away our rights. Yes, 9/11, we all know, but since supposedly our government has pulled their heads out, we are now on guard for things like that, and Iraq has nothing to do with it. They are sent to "help" another country at the expense of our tax dollars. I don’t think the person asking this question is putting down the MILITARY people, I think he is asking a question about the AMERICAN PEOPLE’S INTELLIGENCE. Jesus. We all respect the people in the military, we just don’t ALL respect where they are being sent and for what cause.

Why do people keep saying that the Military is protecting our freedom? Well lets see here. Probably because if the Military didnt exist we could have been under the CONTROL of Saddam, Hitler, Stalin, Ect. Our men and women protect ur sorry ass and make it able for you to speak in the free belittling and ignorant manner in which you are. Why dont you join an armed service so u can understand rather than reading sugar coated information from a news paper. They fight to prevent terroists from coming into our country so that you dont have to keep that ignorant mouth of urs shut. Read a few history books it might help u understand.
