Why use an ACOG scope on a Sniper Rifle in COD4?

Is there any advantage to this? If not, why did the makers of COD4 make it available for sniper rifles, instead of allowing you to unlock something else useful?

although the scope doesnt zoom in as far, the advantage of the acog scope is you can move faster with the scope zoomed in…not all that good for the single shot sniper rifles but works good with the barrett .50 cal, or the m21, both are semi automatic, and it makes it easier to look around through an acog scope…makes the semi auto snipers a little more mobile

I really hate the ACOG on sniper rifles, and most people don’t use this combo, but some people like it for smaller maps and for being more mobile with the rifle.

ACOG is just good for mostly close range.
It doesn’t take as long to zoom in as a regular scope.
If you see someone up close and you have an ACOG on a sniper, then you have more of a chance of surviving because you can pull out your snipe faster.

Well the M21 with the Acog scope can be useful in short range as it is a faster gun, otherwise i don’t know i never use them.

P.S I’m best player in cod4… in the world.

they put the acog in the game for people who cant snipe. they think they are sniping but really they just suck.
