I’d feel better if Joe Arpaio was the National Guard commander for Arizona instead of just the Maricopa Sheriff.
California is practically lost, there is nothing in New Mexico anyways, and Texas can hold their own as well.

Let me ask you something… if the cartel’s and "Mexican Mafia" were to pay the government their share in return for their existence without setting off any alarms… how would they do it?
… Think.
They would send some poor sod through the border with a bunch of drugs or a bunch of cash. They would send in the DEA to make a few key arrests and then go off and throw some liberal pothead’s in jail saying that they solved the problem there and continue to fight the "War on Drugs". Who benefits from all of this?
Certainly not the pothead who keep’s paying the distributor at an uncontrolled rate that the distributor and the cartel’s control… god forbid if it were ever legal and there would suddenly be a structured market value for the marijuana. God forbid if they ever had to structure that money and put it into somewhere other than their own pockets. Not to mention that they wouldn’t be able to throw any more potheads in jail to blame all of the country’s problems on when that is so far from the case that it’s honestly ridiculous.
You just go ahead and keep blaming everything on the pothead’s and the immigrants. I’m white, I have family down in georgia too, and every time they come up to visit I hear it every single year about how "they" are "taking over". We both know what this is really about.
Do you think I am wrong? Think I am just another liberal pothead reformer? Kennedy’s MADE their fortune by selling drugs! This is NOT a secret… it’s just conveniently ignored like pretty much everything else in our "society".

The senator from Texas said this morning that the state of Texas will defend its borders without waiting for help from Obama or our military. GO TEXAS.
If our government will not defend our border’s then we can. We do have gun’s, and brains which is more than I can say for the politicians that refuse to do the job. Even worse want to reward illegal immigrants with tax refund check’s, drivers license, free health care, food stamps, and whatever else they want.
I am for legal immigration, but against illegal immigration. What about the word ILLEGAL do these politicians have a hard time understanding?
American’s are getting very tired of footing the bill for ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS!!

Will the US politicians be willing to offend the illegal immigrant voting bloc? The legal immigrants don’t like having jobs taken and wages driven down either.
Illlegals do vote – thats one of the reasons democrats are so adamantly against voter ID rules. Except when it comes to voting in dem. primaries.
Voter ID and enforcement of laws are crucial issues : what good is government that can’t(won’t) do either

I know the US military would be willing, that’s not a worry in my mind. However, I wonder if our politicians would actually deploy our military to help defend the border. It seems that they are completely unwilling to do anything up to this point and Americans are already being kidnapped, ransomed and killed!
On a side note, I think that what could happen on our southern border is the perfect argument in support of why Americans should have the right to own what are considered assault weapons.
