Would you feel safer if guns for citizens became illegal?
Taking into consideration that there have been at least 8 mass shootings in the US in the past month, would you want to restrict guns for only the police and military? I certainly would. If I was close to someone who was depressed, lost their job, or having relationship problems & I knew they had a gun, I would be worried during this time…
I’ll let the community choose the best vote. Its sad that the "law abiding" citizens are the ones with the guns that are going on rampages and killing innocent people.

Yes, for sure. .

Don’t be dense. Guns don’t kill people.

If the state banned guns it would violate our right to bare arms. I wish they would make it more difficult to obtain a gun though.

Making guns illegal doesn’t stop the criminals from getting them
It would cause a whole new black market for guns just like there is now for drugs

i agree with you. guns should only be used by the police and military

NO WAY!!! think about it, even if guns became illegal, the out laws would still get guns somehow, then all of us innocent people would have no protection.

yea…………….it should be illegal ..to own guns..!!!

No I wouldn’t feel safer. The only people who would give up their guns, if they became illegal, would be the honest and law abiding citizens. And criminals would still have theirs.

Not at all, actually I would feel less safe. But I would fear our government more than anything. "To have complete government control, you must disarm the nation"
If they try to make guns illegal, this will cause multiple issues.
Just like drugs are illegal, they are still in possestion. When the citizens are disarmed, the only ones with guns will be those who you don’t want with them.
Also, if banned, it would infringe on our rights given by the constitution and would lead to many states Reclaiming Sovereignty then eventually causing a civil war.
We are not a socialist society. We must remain that way. Even though examples like the Patriot Act shows how Socialist we really are, but we cannot go any further down this road.
"Those who know nothing about history, will be doomed forever to repeat it"

NO
Then law abiding citizens would lose their guns and psycho crazies would still have them. Just like drugs- they are illegal and most people dont do them, doesnt make then unavailable to people who might want some, just makes it more expensive.
We, the good guys, would have no way of protecting ourselves and that would leave us more suseptible to being harmed.
Besides the fact that hunting is a common sport in the US, how would taking guns away affect that?
Taking away our right to bear arms would just cause more conflict instead of more control.
Its a good thought though…just highly unrealistic.

I would feel much less safe. Look at the poor folks at the immigration center. If good guys had had guns too, the guy could have been stopped sooner. Moreover, knowing he wouldn’t get far, he probably wouldn’t have done it at all. Things like that never happen at gun shows and military bases.

well if guns are illegal then what about bombs?will that make you feel safe? and if guns are illegal for citizens how can they defend there self for like robbery’s in shops? just think about all these questions and see what you think…

No. I doubt I would even still be alive if I hadn’t pulled my .38 two separate times when ghetto thugs tried to mug me.
Look at some statistics in areas where there have been gun restrictions…crime has escalated because the thugs sure don’t give up their guns and they know the citizens are much easier targets when they are weaponless.

No.
It is our right to protect ourselves. It is unfortunate that some people do not respect the weapon and the laws.
Someday I may need my weapon to protect myself. I respect the law and fortunately when I have issues in my life I am not going Postal on anyone

I think that taking away our given amendment right to bear arms would be a horrible idea. After all, a lot of criminals get their guns through illegal methods, so if you stop allowing civilians the right to bear arms, criminals would still obtain guns and citizens would be vulnerable. An estimated 2,500,000 crimes are thwarted because of civilian gun use every year after all. And if you had gun free neighborhoods, they would just attract criminals. Although guns can be devastatingly powerful killing machines, everyone should have a right to own one for protection.

You are so right because everyone knows that if a criminal or lunatic decided they wanted to kill someone gun laws would stop them just like drug laws stop people from shooting heroin.
Gun laws only affect those who obey laws.
There have been 8 mass shootings in the entire US and that makes you afraid and want to make guns illegal. In that same time 24 people were murdered in Chicago alone where handguns are illegal. So how effective are gun laws in preventing murders?
February 12th, 2010 at 4:21 am
No. The criminals would still use guns. They would love an unarmed populace. There’s a federally mandated waiting period while a background check is done anyway. Only the law abiding citizens would be harmed if this were the case.
